With all the outcry on both sides regarding law enforcement, I figured it's high time I weigh in on it with my own personal experiences and observations.
Ever since the 2004 RNC, I've noticed a disturbing trend by law enforcement to initiate violence against peaceful protests and gatherings while disappearing almost entirely during acts of violence and mass vandalism.
Quite a bit of money, time, and materials already tends to go into police departments across the country. Even the smallest of them now have assault weapons, armored vehicles, and more - and now that they have them they look for any excuse to use them, battering down doors and ramming into buildings for even simple things like parking tickets. Just like when they build a new - larger - taxpayer funded jail... they then focus on locking up as many people as possible in order to justify it's construction. Minor non-violent offenses that once were simple "cite & release" now end up being booked into the jail, where from the minute they're hauled through the door fees start racking up against them.
At the same time, cops don't want to be bothered with dealing with such things as reckless driving, assaults, wanton endangerment, etc. They want to be paid a lot of money for doing nothing more than driving around in an expensive taxpayer bought SUV being fueled up on the citizen's dime, while asking those same citizens to solve criminal cases for them.
BUT IT GETS WORSE.
For the most part cops today have become as bad as (and in cases even worse than) criminal gangs. Many of them have been conditioned to believe nothing they do is wrong. And those calling to "defend the police", "back the blue" and "blue lives matter" are complicit in that behavior. They are accessories to every criminal act those out of control cops commit - from felony assault with deadly weapons to murder. And even in those rare cases where a cop IS charged for such criminal acts, more often than not the jury is stacked in their favor and they wind up walking out scott free. :(
FOR THOSE STILL READING...
Thank you. It shows you haven't been completely brainwashed by our corrupt society.
COP SHOWS = PROPAGANDA
Sad but true. Compare old cop shows like Adam 12, Dragnet, and Highway Patrol with current shows like NYPD Blue, Chicago PD and Blue Bloods.
Adam 12 had episodes dealing with and condemning police brutality and corruption.
Both Chicago PD and NYPD Blue have a disturbing trend of portraying cops assaulting suspects as perfectly acceptable, which subtly conditions the viewer into believing it's ok for cops to do that.
That's not to say that cops should NEVER resort to violence. If I were a cop, and I pulled up on a scene where a person was armed and was unwilling to listen to reason, and they were about to act to harm an innocent person...
Then YES, I would take them down or take them out without regrets.
It all boils down to the old saying - WITH POWER COMES RESPONSIBILITY.
Just because I (or you) have the power to do something, DOES NOT automatically mean we should use that power at every opportunity.
EVERYONE should strive to be more like Pete Malloy & Jim Reed, and not like Hank Voight & Danny Reagan.
Try to see things from the other's point of view before you take action. If the other person will listen to reason, then reason should be used before force.
GOOD COPS ARE AN ENDANGERED SPECIES
Yes, there ARE some good cops still out there. Unfortunately, unless they keep their heads down and keep quiet they won't last long. They'll either be driven out by the corrupt department leadership and their rank n file thugs, or (in certain cases) will even suffer a "tragic accident". There are documented cases - some even reported in the news - of good cops enduring an organized campaign of outright terrorism by the rest of the department for standing up and doing the right thing.
An officer in Florida was stalked - receiving death threats and her residence broken into - by other members of her department after she blew the whistle on wrongdoing.
An officer in Wisconsin who spoke up on the actions of the corrupt police chief was retaliated against by that chief - who verbally attacked the officer with claims of "mental health problems" and ordered him to undergo an evaluation... effectively ending his career as an officer.
BY THE WAY - that same chief covered up a case of police brutality and ordered his henchmen on the force to terrorize the witnesses to it.
If what I've listed in this post isn't enough to make you see that drastic changes are needed in law enforcement, then you are beyond all reason and are part of the problem.
